Here at FP we like to think outside of the box, and while doing so that got us thinking about what we could do with the boxes we send. Each year FP Mailing Solutions distributes over 150,000 ink cartridges to customers. As we continue to grow as a business that number continues to climb, and with global climate change on everyone’s minds these days we felt we needed to do our part to recycle whenever possible. Which is why we decided to begin collecting and recycling our customers used postage meter ink cartridge boxes.
We launched our cartridge return and recycling program in the fall of 2017 not knowing what to expect of the return rate. Much to our surprise, within 5 short months we had already collected over 7,400 cartridges for recycling. Given the success of this program, we are working hard to roll out this program to our major accounts and to our dealer customers in the near future.
The Process:
We like to be as simple as possible. Any customer that places an ink cartridge order directly through FP will receive their ink packages in the mail with a pre-paid return label in the box. There is no need to pay for additional postage, we have easily provided all of our customers with a return label to use at their convenience.
Should there be a need for an additional label simply go to our recycling page to request a label.
Customers will then place their used cartridge in the same box, affix the return label and ship it out. Simple as that!
