On November 15th, 2024, the USPS filed notice with the Postal Regulatory Commission for price changes scheduled to take effect January 19th, 2025. If approved, these price change will only effect Domestic and International Shipping Services, Market Dominant products such as First-Class Mail will not experience any price change.
Detailed below are the expected overall increase by service:
While Mailing services such as First-Class are based on the consumer price index (CPI), Shipping Service prices are primarily adjusted according to market conditions. The USPS governors believe these new rates will keep the Postal Service competitive while providing the agency with needed revenue as part of their Delivering for America 10-year plan.
The PRC will review the changes before they are scheduled to take effect. For a full list of the proposed changes please visit the USPS Postal Explorer website here.
